On Saturday, June 28, 2008, The Jaded Gamer said farewell and officially closed its doors.

Here you will find (most of) the site's content -- from the official launch on October 1, 2001, to the final post on May 29, 2008.

I hope you enjoy the many articles and opinions to be found within this archive, as we all took great pride in what we managed to publish over the site's 7-year run. And since everything didn't make it over to the last redesign, be sure to check out the previous versions of the site at Archive.org. Like most of the site itself, there may be some undiscovered and forgotten gems to be found there.

Game on!

Somewhere along the line, it became real cool among gamers to say that graphics don't matter, gameplay was everything, and that if someone were to make a game that played like Street Fighter II, but looked like a bunch of ASCII characters, it would still be a great game. Yeah, sure, and that cheerleader you stalked all through tenth and eleventh grade had a great personality, right? Whether we like to admit it or not, graphics usually matter.

Like many of my peers in the industry, there are many positive things I could say about the Grand Theft Auto IV experience. After all, it really is as good as we've been been hearing, and I've certainly been enjoying my time with Rockstar's cash cow "murder simulator". Unfortunately, though, I have no choice but to use my first post on the subject to point out an epic negative: The game is broken.

Why Tenchu: Wrath Of Heaven Is Unquestionably The Most Realistic Ninja Game Ever

In the history of video games, ninjas are everywhere -- from Bad Dudes to Shinobi to Ninja Gaiden to Final Fantasy. Ninjas are so popular in video games that it's easy to get confused and think that they are simply fictional characters, created by game designers. You know, like Mario, Pac-Man and John Madden. However, ninjas were real and played an important role in the history of medieval Japan, although the real ones barely resemble the characters we are used to seeing in video games. With one exception...
